Would it be helpful if I had my speedometer calibrated?

This would be a county by county determination, but a a general rule calibrating your speedometer will have no impact on your ability to obtain an improper equipment in North Carolina.  Speedometer calibrations are generally not requested, required, or recommended in order to obtain an improper equipment reduction.

Again, the district attorney in a specific judicial district or County in North Carolina is the individual who makes the local policies regarding whether improper equipment outcomes will be offered and under what conditions.  A local attorney in each county would be in the best position to advise you whether a speedometer calibration would be helpful, but this is not something that is typically done.  Remember the vehicle doesn't actually need to have an equipment issue in order to get an improper equipment.

A lawyer who works in the county in which you have received your citation is in the best position to advise you as to whether an improper equipment is offered in that particular county.  By submitting an inquiry on this web site, the inquiry will be submitted to a local attorney that is familiar with the local policies.
